I must say, I think the trailer looks awesome…. yeah it was a bit sexist, but really let’s not get involved in politics, we buy the game to live like an assassin If you felt it was sexist, why the hell would you buy it? I agree with your comment… “The industry has become more high-tech and impressive over time so we should have matured as an audience and grown alongside it” – couldnt agree more. Nice post

I don’t see what the issue is? Would it not be more sexist if the chicks were blonde and very much in distress, and Hitman was rescuing them? They look good and their armed to the teeth, that’s all. Were the shots of leather clad thigh and ass gratuitous? Yeah probably, but a cursory glance at the ads across the tube network will show far more tit than this piece of CGI. And nuns with guns? This is old news, Games workshop were knocking out a WHOLE ARMY of gun totting sisters over ten years ago. Just do a google image search for Sisters of Battle. Konradens point about being a dumb add stands, the Perfectly Executed campaign was masterful and this falls well short. But remember, just as our generation have matured, there’s a whole new generation behind us that are gonna watch this and love it….

You know what, I never considered it that way… clearly the trailer is about body confidence. The nuns choice of uniform, although unorthodox, gives them a sense of empowerment and unity, thus explaining why they have the bravado to attack with such little thought to their strategy. 47 is the victim here, the nuns strutting with such swagger throws up confidence issues surrounding his untimely balding. It truly is a wonder he dealt with them quite so delicately as he did. Who knew the trailer was really a metaphor for a male’s concern of sexual inferiority as a result of male pattern baldness?

Why the latex get-up? Perhaps for team cohesion. They might have made an ineffective assault team (then again, 47 is the perfect killing machine), but having a uniform, even if it provides less protection than a t-shirt and jeans, can bind a team together, making them more effective than simply the sums of their curvacious parts.
